Synopsis

Preparing for Perfection is a comprehensive hands-on and theory-based course designed to enhance clinicians’ knowledge and technical skills in the preparation of teeth for indirect restorations, with a focus on crowns and veneers.

The course explores contemporary principles of tooth preparation, material selection, biological considerations, and minimally invasive approaches that support predictable aesthetic and functional outcomes.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of preparation design for various restorative materials, including all-ceramic and metal-ceramic systems, and learn how to optimise retention, resistance, marginal integrity, and periodontal health.

Through demonstrations, case discussions, and practical exercises, attendees will develop the confidence and precision required to execute high-quality crown and veneer preparations in everyday clinical practice.

Aims and Objectives

To equip dental practitioners with the knowledge, clinical principles, and practical skills required to perform predictable, biologically sound, and aesthetically driven crown and veneer preparations using contemporary restorative concepts.

• Execute full-coverage crown preparations with appropriate reduction, taper, and finish-line configuration.

Dr Ashish Rayarel BDS, MSc, MFGDP(UK), PgCert, FCGDent

Dr Ashish Rayarel is an experienced general dental practitioner, educator and mentor with over 35 years of clinical experience. A graduate of the University of Manchester, he founded Ash Dental Practice after completing vocational training and four years as an associate, growing it from a single surgery into a successful six-surgery practice before its sale in 2020. He continues to practise as an associate while dedicating much of his time to postgraduate education and professional development.

Dr Rayarel has a particular interest in restorative and aesthetic dentistry and is passionate about developing the skills and confidence of dental professionals. He has mentored more than 25 Foundation Dentists and 10 Foundation Therapists and is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate education. He teaches at the University of Manchester, contributes to the University’s MSc programme, and is a faculty member for Tipton Training, delivering Level 7 postgraduate education.

He holds a Master’s degree in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Mentoring in General Practice. He is also a Fellow of the College of General Dentistry (FCGDent).

Since 2007, Dr Rayarel has developed extensive expertise in facial aesthetics. He has completed advanced training with leading international educators, including Dr Bob Khanna and Allergan, and trained in MD Codes™ under the guidance of world-renowned Brazilian plastic surgeon Dr Mauricio de Maio. He has lectured and trained dentists in the use of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers both in the UK and internationally, including Dubai, and has published articles on facial aesthetics in Private Dentistry.
